Frunzik Mkrtchyan started his acting career with comedy roles, making his film debut in the movie In Search of the Addressee (1955). Among the actor’s purely comedy works there are his roles in the films 33 by Georgi Daneliya , Aybolit-66 by Rolan Bykov, The Caucasian Captive by Leonid Gaidai, where the film directors mostly resorted to his looks. Lots of movies also revealed his lyrical talent, and the unity of Mkrtchyan’s comedy and drama gift was shown the roles of Ruben in the movie Mimino by Georgi Daneliya (1977), and Armenak in Dmitry Keosayants’ work The Soldier and the Elephant (1977). For most of the viewers memorable are his roles in comedies, such as Vanity of Vanities (1979) by Alla Surikova were remembered and Hostel for Singles is Provided (1983) by Samson Samsonov.
