From the age of 14 years she attended the Kiev Sculpture School, but at the age of 16 left for Paris and entered the famous Academy Russ. In the academy she got acquainted with Alexander Archipenko, Oscar Meshaninov, Amedeo Modigliani, Chana Orloff, Chaim Soutine, Ossip Zadkine, Joseph Chaikov, and others. She frequented with Amedeo Modigliani a nearby café, where they took onion soup. The young artist came under the influence of Auguste Rodin and Aristide Maillol. 

From 1915 to 1917 she was the exhibitor of the World of Art (Mir Iskusstva) association. 

 

From 1920 Nina Niss-Goldman taught in the Higher Art and Technical Studio and became Professor. In 1926 the artist went to Italy for a 2 year creative travel. 

 

She started participating in Moscow, All-Union and foreign exhibitions from 1915. 
 

Nina Niss-Goldman died in Moscow, and was laid to rest at the Preobrazhenskoye Cemetery.
