Irina Shayk
Irina Shayk is one of the most well-paid and popular Russian models, the first Russian woman whose photo graced the cover of the prestigious U.S. magazine Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.
Irina Valerievna Shaykhlislamova was born on January 6, 1986 in Emanzhelinsk, Chelyabinsk Region (Russia). She is better known as Irina Shayk. Half Russian, half Tatar, she inherited Russian eyes of a rare green-olive colour from her mother and mysterious eastern beauty from her Tatar father. Irina and her sister Tatiana grew up in a family of ordinary people with ordinary professions: their mother played the piano and conducted music lessons in kindergarten, their father was a miner. Since the age of 6 Irina was learning to play the piano, she studied at the music and comprehensive schools. As she was 14, her family suffered a grief: the father died of pneumonia. Both daughters saw how much patience, endurance and perseverance were needed to live it out. Later, in one of the interviews Irina admitted that only because of her mother`s example she realized that to achieve any goal was only possible when you tried your best. After graduating from the secondary school in Chelyabinsk Irina enrolled at Economics College where she studied marketing. Her dizzying ascent to stardom started there, in Chelyabinsk.
Her modeling career began with a win in one of the Chelyabinsk beauty contests called "Supermodel 2004". Gia Dzhikidze, a scout who managed to open Eugenia Volodina, Natalia Vodianova, Pauline Kuklin and others to the public in their time, also noticed Irina. He immediately offered the girl to start doing professional modeling business. In 2005 the girl began to work as a model in European countries, and some time later in the United States. In 2007 Irina was invited to become a face of the brand Intimissimi, she kept this status until 2009. Two years ago the famous model began to represent Intimissimi as an ambassador of the brand. Irina Shayk posed for the covers of such titles as: GQ Spain, Glamour Spain, Elle Spain, GQ South Africa, Ocean Drive and others. Irina Shayk takes a respectable 10th place in the list of the most attractive and sexy models of the world.
Irina always supports maternity clinic in her native city, Emanzhelinsk. The girl still actively cooperates with the charitable foundation called "Help. org" (“Pomogi.org”), collecting funds for the operations of the sick children.
Since 2010 Irina goes together with the Portuguese football player Cristiano Ronaldo. Their wedding scheduled for July 12, 2012 was cancelled.
