The British tabloids The Daily Mail and The Sun on Sunday stated that a Russian citizen was involved in the publication of intimate pictures of Hollywood stars stolen from the cloud file storage service iCloud.
According to the publications, they speak of a 28-year-old computer specialist from Samara Sergei Kholodovskiy. Sergei himself told to the British editions that he had no relation to the theft of the pictures taken by him from public sources.
The Sun on Sunday claims that the Russian admitted he had been supporting the website in Arizona where the pictures were published. According to him, the website is owned by his partner - another Russian living in Europe. Kholodovskiy told to the tabloid that he communicated with the employer only through the Internet and did not know his real name. The company promised to reinforce security in the cloud storage and send e-mail warnings to iCloud users on attempts to change the password, download data from iCloud to a new device, as well as on the first log-in with a new device. The Daily Mail also stated that it contacted the Russian, who said he had no relation to the theft of photos from iCloud and took all pictures published on the website from open sources. RBC tried to contact Kholodkovskiy through his accounts available in the social networks.
Kholodkovskiy did not answer the questions of RBC at the time of the material preparation. In an interview with The Daily Mail the Russian said that the support of the website with brings him little money, but he works with many websites. The identities of the people involved in the incident have not yet been officially determined.
