The official spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova was added to the list of the most inspiring and influential women in the world annually compiled by BBC. This was reported on the web site of the TV corporation on Monday, November 21.

The top 100 included women from different countries who have made their contribution in the areas such as art, science, religion, business, health, sport, human rights, journalism and politics.

Zakharova presented the “Politics” category. The web site of the project explains that Zakharova was added to the list due to the fact that she has become the first woman at the post of the Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, and she made an impression by her aggressive, bright style.

The list of significant female politicians also includes a student-activist from Congo, a pop singer and a democratic activist from Hong Kong, a Pakistani activist advocating for the independence of Balochistan province and a former Minister of Justice of France who protects the rights of Muslim women.
