Galich is a Russian city (since 1159) in the Kostroma Region. The city is included into the list of historical dwelling areas of Russia. It has the population of 16 869 people (as of 2015).

Galich Museum of Local Lore. It was opened on March 12, 1922. Until 2002 it was housed in the Epiphany Church and after that was moved to the historical house in 11, Lunacharsky Street.

The working Orthodox churches are the Paisiy-Galich Uspensky Monastery, Kozmodemyansky Church, and Vvedensky Cathedral with the Galich icon of the Mother of God.
