Sergiev Posad is obviously a town that deserves a special visit. Despite incredible number of old towns in Moscow Region, Sergiev Posad is the only one of them that is always included in the famous Golden Ring excursions. The major point of attraction here is Troitse-Sergieva Lavra (The Trinity - St Sergius Lavra).

Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius is the largest orthodox men's stavropegial monastery in Russia; it is located in the center of Sergiev Posad of the Moscow Region, on River Konchura. The monastery was founded in 1337 by Saint Sergius of Radonezh. Numerous architectural constructions Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius were built by the country’s best architects of the 15th -19th centuries. The monastery ensemble includes more than 50 buildings of different functions.
The well-known Toy Museum is located in the town’s most beautiful place, on Volokusha Hill, in front of the Trinity Lavra. The museum founded in 1918 keeps more than 30 thousand toys of different nations of the world.
The town is also proud of its History and Art Museum Reserve that was organized in 1920 within the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, but then moved to a former bank building in the center of the town. The museum harbouring over 110 thousand exhibits is one of the largest depositaries of Russian art.
In a city of times in a year festivals of balloons of unusual forms «Sky of Sacred Sergija» in the summer are held.
