Pskov Region is located in northwestern Russia and boarders with Estonia, Latvia and Belarus. The region covers an area of 55,300 sq km and is traversed by the net of railroads and highways, connecting Russia with the Baltic and Eastern European states. The capital city of the region is Pskov, which outstands 689 km from Moscow and 280 km from St. Petersburg. Pskov is located at the confluence of two major rivers of the region, the Velikaya and the Pskova Rivers.
Pskov Region has a moderate continental climate with average temperatures ranging from -1,7°Ñ for January to 17°Ñ for July. Mild weather conditions, mixed forest, numerous rivers and lakes create wonderful possibilities for recreation and leisure.
