Dalnegorsk is a town in the Primorsky Territory of Russia. It is the administrative center of the Dalnegorsk city district.
Dalnegorsk is the most eastern and the most mountainous town (180 — 804 meters above the sea level) in the Primorsky Territory. It is located in the eastern spurs of the Sikhote-Alin mountain system, in the valley of River Rudnaya, at the 35 km distance from the coast of the Sea of Japan ajf 535 km away from Vladivostok.
It is a monotown: the city-forming enterprises are only Bor and Dalpolimetall.
Despite high level of industrialization of Dalnegorsk, more than 90 percent of the territory under the municipal department are covered with coniferous (mainly cedar) and mixed broad-leaved forests that delight the fans of ecotourism.
Dalnegorsk has monsoonal temperate climate and is subject to the influence of cold seaside current. Winter is cold and quite snowy, whereas summer is warm and damp. The average temperature of January is 12,8 centigrade below zero and that of August (the warmest month) is 19,4 centigrade above zero. Dalnegorsk is equated to the Far North area. It was founded as the settlement of Tetukhe in 1897 and became a town in 1989.
