Kazan Kremlin

The «Kazan Kremlin» State Museum-Reserve of History, Architecture, and Arts was established in 1994. The Kazan Kremlin is a medieval fortress; its inner space has a regular plan and contains buildings dating from the 16th to the 19th centuries, with remains of the 10th–16th century fortifications and structures. The Kremlin is situated in the central part of Kazan, on the cape of an elevated terrace of the left bank of the river Kazanka (the maximum elevation change of the hill is 28m).
