History of Cherdakly
It was founded by service class Tatars, natives of the Penza District in 1688. The first dwellers of the village were the Tatars and the Mordovians. For many years the settlers served as watchman Cossacks on the village borders. Later on the need for guard service disappeared and Cherdakly became a usual village.
It got the status of an urban-type settlement in 1957.
Kuibyshev railroad and Highway P178 Saransk — Ulyanovsk — Dimitrovgrad — Samara run through Cherdakly.
