Novospasskoye is a Russian urban-type settlement in the Ulyanovsk Region.
It is the administrative center of the Novospassky District.
The settlement population makes 10 860 people (as of 2014).
History of Novospasskoye
The village appeared in the 17th century and was named Solovtsovo after its owner P. G. Solovtsov.
In 1875 it was renamed into Novospasskoye Village in connection with railroad construction.
It became an urban-type settlement in 1966.
Historical Monuments
Obelisk to the Red Army men Salnikov and Lazarev who were shot down by White Army Czechs; two monuments to Lenin; a monument to the settlement dwellers lost in World War II, a monument to local victims in Afghanistan, and the memorial airplane MiG-17.
