The museum includes Lermontov’s ancestral estate Tarkhany with a complex of memorial monuments of the early 19th century, the family necropolis of the Arsenyevs – Lermontovs, the memorial church of Mikhail Archistratig, and Apalikha estate.

The golden fund of the museum presents the poet’s relics: the painting “Caucasian View near Sioni settlement” by Lermontov, his drawings, personal belongings, original editions of Lermontov’s works published in his lifetime and posthumously, prominent artists’ illustrations for his books, ancient icons, and so on.
