Bessonovka is a Russian township, the administrative center of the Bessonovsky District in the Penza Region.

It has the railway station of Bessonovka on the line Penza-Ruzaevka.

Bessonovka is located at the 6 km distance from Penza, on the left bank of River Sura, near the confluence of River Sheldais.

In the outskirts of the township of Bessonovka there is a unique complex of sites of the Stone Age and the Middle Ages (5th millennium BC – the 2nd half of 1st millennium AD).
