Ryazan is one of the oldest centers of Old Russian culture and art. Today, this ancient city is more than 900 years old and preserves some of the unsurpassed exampled of old Russian architecture and icon painting.

The main attraction of the old city of Ryazan is the Kremlin and the historic center of the city, which is small, still full of different architectural pearls.

The region's main attraction is the village of Konstantinovo, where Sergey Yesenin, worldly renowned Russian poet, was born and wrote some of his best poems.
