Geography

Oryol Region is located in the southwestern part of European Russia, 300km to the south of Moscow. The region borders with Kaluga and Tula regions in the north, Bryansk region in the west, Kursk region in the south and Lipetsk region in the east.

The climate of the region is moderate continental. Average temperature in winter is 8-10C and +18+20 in summer. The region is extremely rich with forests that cover almost 70% of its total territory.
