A.P. Chekhov Museum Reserve “Melikhovo”

Melikhovo is one of the most remarkable monuments of Russian culture. Here the great Russian author Anton Pavlovich Chekhov lived and worked from 1892 to 1899. The Melikhovo museum fund counts over 20 thousand exhibits.

The museum lovingly preserves the memory of Chekhov as a writer, a doctor, and a public figure. The visitors will see the Melikhovo of Chekhov, and get an idea of what Chekhov was like when he was living there. The rooms of Chekhov’s house and the alleys still remember his steps, and make the guests feel the subtle intangible world of the wonderful person and the great writer.
