    Republic of Ingushetia

The Republic of Ingushetia is the youngest in the Russian Federation – it was formed on June the 4th, 1992. Bordering the Chechen Republic, Ingushetia is still not a quiet place and is not recommended as a tourist destination. Ingushetia also borders the republic of North Ossetia-Alania and Georgia.

The territory of the republic is 3.6 000 square km.

The population of the republic is 492 000 people including 83% of the Ingushes, 11.2% of the Chechens, 4.0% of the Russians and 1.8% of other ethnic groups.
