Atyashevo is an urban township, the administrative center of the Atyashevo District of Mordovia.

It is a railway station on the line Romodanovo Kanash.

Its population makes 6119 people (as of 2014). It is located 80 km away from Saransk and is connected to it by the highway Saransk Ardatov and the railway station of the Gorky railroad.

It was founded due to construction of the Moscow and Kazan railroad, a part of which was laid near the village of Atyashev (hence its name) in 1894.
