Mozdok is a city in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania of the Russian Federation. It is the administrative center of the Mozdok District. It is the second largest city of the republic.
The city is located on the left bank of River Terek, in the central part of Mozdok District. It stands at the 95 km distance to the north of the city of Vladikavkaz, the capital city of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania.
The intidal zone of the Terek River is covered with riversides woods, which are protected by the State Forest Fund.
In the territory of the city there is the railway station Mozdok of the North Caucasian Railroad. An air force base, which was actively used during the first Chechen war and anti-terrorist operation in Syria is located in the northwest of Mozdok.
