Dankov is a Russian city (since 1957), the administrative center of the Dankov District of the Lipetsk Region.

It stands on the banks of River Don at the confluence of Vyazovka into it. It has the population of 19 600 people (as of 2015).

Local Lore Museum with the Small Tretyakov Gallery (1968) founded by the Merited Artist of Russia A. I. Plotnov (the museum and gallery are located in the building of the Demetrius of Thessaloniki Church (1790), which is an architectural monument;

Planetarium (the only one in the Lipetsk Region);

Dankov Tikhvin Cathedral;

St. George Church;

Pokrovsk Theological Church;

The Nativity Church.
