Several places were defined in the Amur region for construction of new houses for flood victims.

According to preliminary estimates, about thousand families will move into new houses or flats on the secondary market. About three thousand families will receive money for capital repair of their houses. The sites for construction were already defined in the two places of the region.

The empty territory in Chigiri is planned to divide into 35 sections of approximately 10 acres each and build customized houses for those who found themselves without a roof over their heads. In general, 160 houses in Blagoveshchenskiy district are deemed unfit for habitation.

Besides Chigiri, the victims will be able to settle in Grodekovo and Novopetrovka. Small plots for construction are also allocated there. The majority of new buildings will appear in Volkovo - 70 of them. There road and the electrical power lines are already being constructed as a part of the development program of rural areas. The construction of microdistrict in Volkovo was planned before the flood. Now they wait for funding to come. New houses in Zeyskiy district will be rapidly erected. The construction will be developed in two villages. The houses will be ready in 5 months. They will be single- and two-family with garden plots of 15 acres. Moreover, an eight-family house with communal facilities will be built for pensioners.

The settlement Sosnovy Bor is located two kilometers apart from Zeya. They have allocated 22 acres of land in the flood-free area and concluded a contract with the company that will hold geodesic control.

In total, 7400 houses were flooded in the region. A half of them have already been examined. Many of the victims now ask to re-examine their houses. Initially, the people agreed with the opinion of the commission that their homes were unfit for habitation, but now they want to try to restore them. 640 homes were recognized unfit by the experts for today, 900 houses require capital repair. The order for transfer of money to the residents for repair of their houses is ready. It will be made public next week.
