"Rosneft" will conduct geological explorations in 2014 mainly on Russian shelves.

The bigger part of seismic explorations and investments in geological exploration by Rosneft oil company in 2014 is scheduled for the Russian shelf, Igor Sechin reported to Izvestiya daily. "We are preparing prospective structures for organization of deep drilling. It was planned to drill two wells: in the Kara (East Prinovozemelsky-1 site) and in the Caspian Sea (North Caspian site)," he specified.

According to him, the main volume of drilling exploratory wells will be conducted in the western and eastern parts of Siberia and also in Urals and in Volga region. The main increase in resources is expected in these regions. This year the company plans to drill 115 exploration wells.

"By 2020 the new fields of Rosneft in Eastern Siberia will provide additional annual production in the region of more than 30 million tons of oil and 8 billion cubic meters of gas," the head of the company underlined. Rosneft estimates revenues from these projects at 14 trillion rubles. Sechin also noted that in the first quarter of this year, the success of company's exploration drilling is 100%. "Over the last five years, the company steadily replaces more than 100% of its production with new reserves," the president of the company said.

According to him, Rosneft leads other Russian companies on the scale of recoverable oil and condensate, which in the last year were fixed at 11.4 billion tons. At the same time gas reserves make up approximately 6.5 trillion cubic meters.
