It is planned to host a few "test" tour groups from China within the Red Route project in the next two months in Ulyanovsk Oblast, said the director of OKGU Ulyanovsk Regional Resource Center for Tourism and Service Development, Sergei Lakovsky.
Tourists will visit The Homeland of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin museum complex, will attend the ceremony of dedication into the Leninists, and also will relax on the picturesque bank of the Volga. Later, as Sergei Lakovsky said, the region plans to host within the Red Route up to 100 thousand tourists from China per year. "We find these figures quite realistic taking into account today's demand for such a tourist product, successfully implemented in China today," the director of OGKU said.
According to him, 9 days long Red Route passes through several regions of Russia. First, tourists traveling along the route, visit Ulyanovsk, the homeland of Vladimir Lenin, then according to the project developers, tourists move to Kazan, where the future leader of the world proletariat studied.
After Kazan the group arrives to St. Petersburg, where Lenin implemented his plans of overthrowing the country's autocratic government. Finally, the group arrives to Moscow, the capital of Soviet Russia. As part of the route, it is planned to create later in Ulyanovsk an additional infrastructure.
In particular, it is projected to open by 2017 the Museum of the USSR and Chinese Cultural and Business Center. According to the authors of the project, in the works on modernization of Ulyanovsk’s airport, able to receive tourists from around the world, are underway.
