October 5, 2014 12:41

Two roads and two pedestrian bridges across the Moscow River will be built in the area of Khoroshevo-Mnevniki.

Two roads and two pedestrian bridges across the Moscow River will be built in the area of Khoroshevo-Mnevniki where they plan to build a parliamentary centre for the State Duma and the Federation Council. It is reported by the web-portal with the reference to the head of the Off-Street Transportation Directorate of the Moscow City Architecture Committee Maksim Vasilyev.

In particular, the cable-stayed road bridge 300 m long will connect Narodnogo Opolcheniya Street with Nizhnie Mnevniki, a pedestrian zone and a viewing platform will be arranged there. Footbridges connecting Mnevniki with the “Fili” park will be landscaped with creepers, and another green zone will be created opposite the “Fili” park, on the other side of the river. We want to recall that a parliamentary centre will be built in Mnevniki in 2018. The construction of bridges will begin in 2016, as M. Vasilyev said. The design of the four bridges will start in 2015.

“First versions of exterior may appear in January and February 2015”. If it is possible to make a comfortable platform on one of the pylons we will make it a viewing one. This will require minimum expenditures” - M. Vasilyev reported. The second road bridge built by a standard design will connect Novye Mnevniki Street with Krylatskaya Street. It will be a backup of the existing Krylatsky bridge. M. Vasilyev noted that one of them may be landscaped.

“The residents of Moscow will move through them between the two green areas: the “Fili” park and another green area which is to be created on the other side of the river. We can landscape one of them to make it a link between the two parks” - he said. In this case the bridge will be warmed, it will be decorated by creepers grown hydroponically. M. Vasilyev explained that one of the bridges may appear next to Myasishcheva Street, at the Church of All Saints, the second one - to the south of the plant named after Khrunichev and Novozavodskaya Street. This is just an approximate location, the project may change, as the representative of Moscow City Architecture Committee stressed.
