It is planned to build a “Bukva-Grad” (a “letter-town”) in the Esplanade, as the press service of the Mayor’s Office of Perm reported. Ice objects will represent a “library”, as the concept of the ice town on the esplanade this year will be literature.
This was reported by the head of the Department of Culture and Youth Policy of the Administration of Perm Vyacheslav Torchinsky. He presented the draft of the ice town to the Committee on Development of Human Potential of the City Duma. “The Russian President Vladimir Putin announced 2015 to be the Year of Literature” - the official explained the choice of the concept. According to him, every object of the town will be dedicated to a particular literary work.
The entrance group of the town is to be devoted to the 150th anniversary of the book “Alice in Wonderland” by Lewis Carroll. In addition, you will be able to ride the slides on the territory if the ice city in honor of the 85th anniversary of Vladimir Mayakovsky’s poem “At the Top of Voice” (“ Vo Ves’ Golos”), the 160th anniversary of “Sevastopol Stories” by Lev Tolstoy. It is supposed to dedicate the traditional maze of the town to the 195th anniversary of Aleksandr Pushkin’s poem “Ruslan and Lyudmila” and to call it “The Gardens of Chernomor”. The “traps” equally popular among the residents of Perm will be devoted to the 145th anniversary of Jules Verne’s novel “20,000 Leagues under the Sea”.
The works of Perm authors also found its niche in the town. Thus, the ice slide “Silver Meridian” will be created on the basis of the work of the famous Perm writer Lev Kuzmin “Captain Coco and a Green Piece of Glass”. It is worth noting that all the compositions are to be equipped with information signs to help young residents to learn more about the literary works. The ice town will also held the Cup on Creation of Ice Sculptures, 20 teams have already submitted applications for participation in it, according to the ‘TEXT’ news agency.
