Six New Beaches Will Be Ready For Moscow Summer

Six new beach areas with a total area of 47.5 hectares will be equipped on the specially protected natural territories of the captial under the jurisdiction of SEBI “Mospriroda” by the new summer season.

“Six new beach areas will be equipped in Moscow as a part of the city program”Development of recreation and tourism industry for 2012-2016”, it will be possible to swim on one of them. Previously these were “wild” beaches chosen by the city residents who went there to relax, but until now there have been no equipped beaches there” – the Head of the Department of Natural Resources Anton Kulbachevsky told.

He added that in order to create favorable conditions for recreation of the residents and tourists of Moscow in these areas, it is planned to repair the tracks, install benches, bike parkings, equip beach decks, lounges, changing rooms, playgrounds, “Workout” athletic trainers, organize picnic points and places for fishing.

New beach areas without swimming will be equipped on Karamyshevskaya embankment (“Moskvoretsky” natural-historical park), Khoroshevskogo Spryamleniya channel, Novikova-Priboya embankment, Kirovskaya floodplain from the Moscow Ring Road along Isakovskogo Street (“Moskvoretsky” natural-historical park), on the left bank of the Moskva River on Zhivopisnaya Street (“Moskvoretsky” natural-historical park) and on the southern side of Verkhny Kuzminsky Pond (“Kuzminki-Lublino” natural-historical park).

Another beach area where swimming is allowed will be equipped on the Chernoe lake in the 6th district of Zelenograd.
