Risk Of Flood In Crimea
May 30, 2015 00:20

In connection with the possibility of flood in Crimea, we publish recommendations for tourists staying on holidays in a potentially dangerous zone.

The following actions are recommended by Rosturizm  to protect the lives and property of certain settlements during the flood and on evacuation procedures.

During evacuation it is necessary to take documents, valuables, the things of immediate need, drinking water and food for two or three days. Next, it is important to specify the location. In the daytime, this is achieved by hanging white or colored towels on high ground, but at nights by light signals.
Those who are in the flood zone should remain on the upper floors and building roofs, trees and other high places before the aid arrives. They should stay in safe places until the water goes down. Boats, motor boats, rafts made of logs and other scrap materials can be used for self-evacuation.
Driving a car or a motorcycle during the flood should not be continued: the raging water flow is able to overturn them. After the water goes down it should beware of torn and dangling electrical wires; it is absolutely forbidden to consume food fallen in the water and to drink water without proper sanitary inspection.
