Uber introduces a new economy class tariff focused on the  regions of Russia, the sources close to the company informed Lenta.ru on 18 February. Moreover, the service for online taxi order for the first time will begin to recruit Russian car owners, including Lada Vesta.

According to sources, the new service testing for the regions will begin on 25 February in Ekaterinburg. Such trip will cost 50 rubles for providing a car plus four rubles per kilometer or four rubles per minute. For comparison, now UberX has rates of six rubles per kilometer and six rubles per minute in Ekaterinburg. Landing also costs 50 rubles. Requirements for drivers, who want to work with the new tariff, are the following: 21 years old, driving experience not less than three years and availability of foreign car not older than 2006. It will be permitted to carry passengers by Chinese and Korean cars, as well as by Lada Vesta.

As the resource VC.ru reported, a new tariff will be valid in the regions, while in Moscow and St. Petersburg the list of available cars will be only expanded, which will include domestic models.

Uber is an international service of taxis operating in 68 countries all over the world. In Russia it is possible to use the company's services in seven cities. Ordering a taxi is available by mobile application. A person can use this service tracking the movement of the reserved vehicle. In most cases, Uber drivers use their own cars or taxi company cars. Activity of service has caused protests in several European countries: the taxi drivers were dissatisfied with low service rates, and the government – by lack of licenses for carrying services.
