The International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2017 will open on July 18, 2017 in Zhukovsky, at the airfield of the Gromov Flight Research Institute. The exhibition will last until July 23. For mass visiting the salon will open on July 21.
The open static display will show 116 aircraft of various types, including 18 aircraft of the Russian Air Force, and in particular, Tu-160, Tu-95MS, Tu-22M3, A-50U and IL-76-MD-90A helicopters - various modifications of the Mi-8 / Mi-17, "Ansat-U" and others.
In addition, the visitors of the air show will see the flight program of aerobatic groups. In total, 84 aircraft will be involved in the flight program, and performances of eight aerobatic teams will take place, including "Falcons of Russia" on Su-35S fighters, "Russian Knights" on Su-30SM fighters and "Strizhi" on MiG-29 fighters. Also the Latvian aviation group of aerobatics Baltic Bees jet team ("Baltic bees") and the aerobatic team of the United Arab Emirates Air Force Al Fursan ("Knights") will show their skills.
To deliver visitors to MAKS-2017, the Central Suburban Passenger Company will launch additional 82 pairs of trains. Also for visitors of the air show, arriving by private car, intercepting parking will be organized at the airport "Bykovo". Mostransavto, a Moscow-based transportation company, has allocated more than 200 buses to transport visitors to the MAKS-2017 air show, which will run on seven routes.
Security and public order at the air show will be provided daily by about 3 thousand police officers, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Moscow region reported.
Earlier, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Oleg Bocharov told reporters that in 2018 a decision will be made to move the MAKS airshow from Zhukovsky to Kubinka. According to the deputy minister, a platform is needed that will give "the maximum economic effect and the maximum effect of interaction between designers, manufacturers, sellers and operators of flight equipment."
