Muscovites and tourists are generally welcome in such parks as Gorky Park, Zaryadye, Lilac Garden, Hermitage Garden, Tagansky and Izmailovsky Parks, Bauman Garden, Perovsky, Babushkinsky, Lianozovsky, Goncharovsky Parks, Park of the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution, "Sokolniki", "Fili", "Krasnaya Presnya", "Northern Tushino", "Tsaritsyno", "Kuzminki", "Krasnogvardeyskie ponds", Victory Park on Poklonnaya Hill and "Vorontsovo Estate."
Pancake week is an ancient Slav festival, which has survived to the present day from the time of paganism. It is dedicated to the end of winter and the arrival of warm days. Originally, Maslenitsa was associated with the spring solstice, but after the adoption of Christianity it was celebrated on the eve of Lent. The main dish - pancakes - symbolizes the spring sun.
Shrovetide this year will be celebrated not only in the capital's parks, but also in the city center. From 9 to 18 February there will be a festival "Moscow Maslenitsa".
