Analysts rated Moscow districts by risk of coronavirus infection. The risk of contracting coronavirus in Moscow is high in the outlying sleeping areas, analysts say. In the center and areas with landscaped courtyards and smaller buildings, the threat is lower.
The highest epidemiological hazard index was recorded in the Moscow districts Zyablikovo, Brateevo and Biryulyovo Zapadnoe, according to a study by the Moscow Center for Urban Studies and the analytical company Habidatum. According to experts, in these areas the index is 2.57, 2.40 and 2.38, respectively.
The analysts studied the city districts and assessed the risks of their residents to get coronavirus during trips to the store or pharmacy. Orekhovo-Borisovo Yuzhnoe, Nagatinsky Zaton, Severnoe Medvedkovo, Orekhovo-Borisovo Severnoye, Chertanovo Severnoye, Strogino and Chertanovo Tsentralnoye also appeared in the ten most unfavorable regions. At the same time, Tverskaya, Kurkino and Presnensky turned out to be the least dangerous.

When calculating the index, the experts compiled the number of people per elevator, as well as the number of people per pharmacy within a 10-minute radius and the number of people per 1 sq. m. in the store within 5-20 minutes of availability. Based on this, the areas most likely to become dangerous for people in stores are Metrogorodok, Ivanovo and Biryulyovo Zapadnoye. The risk of infection in a pharmacy is much higher among residents of Nagatinsky Zaton, Zyablikovo and Brateevo. The risk of getting infected in the elevator increases if you live in the areas of Yasenevo, Zyablikovo and Orekhovo-Borisovo Yuzhnoye, the study said.
From the conclusions of analysts it follows that even the parks do not save the inhabitants of the outskirts. The head of the Moscow Center for Urbanism Sergei Kapkov also cited the example of the Airport district, where there are more comfortable yards and a high density of infrastructure, but at the same time there are lower risks of violation of social distance in the elevator.
