Ст&#1077 (Sunday, May 17, 2009 14:21)

as you are eager to know other points of view, let me share. It is true that the world is full of many fearful, ignorant persons who cling to superstition while rejecting scientific knowledge and the acknowledgment of individual human dignity. Fortunately, the human family continues to grown closer with advances in communication, and with that, we come to understand that there are other ways of being truly human. your comments make you appear ignorant, my friend. of course, you are welcome to appear/act this way, but I just thought you might benefit from knowing that your view of reality is disastrously shortsighted. kindest regards, Степан

You are 100% correct the homosexual propaganda comes from outisde your nation--it comes from the USA BRITAIN & the WESTERN EURO Nations--it is the NEW COLONIALISM it is foreign to most nations--even in the African nations & asian nations--for example--Vietnam--INdonesia--Ghana--the Gambia--Nigeria--etc--men are banned from "marrying" a man as happens in the USA or BRITAIN--most nations reject this homosexual colonialism--one more fact--the USA men now "marry" men now--RUSSIAN men are tough & ban such a disgrace--USA men are now seen in the world as weak--& corrupt--while the tough men of RUSSIA are seen as tough with superior morality--why?? Russian men ban this disgrace--Russian men have not lost masculinity like USA men--which brings you to the conclusion---the USA cannot win in IRAQ or AFGHANISTAN---as the men are weaklings who allow men to to "Marry" men--weaklings do not win wars--Zhukovs win wars & the world at large sees these usa men full of weakness & homosexuality even Hugo Chavez knows how USA colonialism is ruining many nations You must salute the tough machos of RUSSIA for their tough morality--Yuri Luzhkov is a great moral man for the children to look up to----ARRRRRRRRRRRIBA LOS MACHOS POR SIEMPRE___BAJO COLONIAL USA PERVERSIONS
gay has appeared and remembered about their rights at the end of 90-th when the power stopped the criminal prosecution of homosexuality
Of course gays didn't suddenly appeared in Russia in the 90's. There has always been homosexuals in Russia (see wikipedia LGBT_rights_in_Russia). For example, respected director Sergei Eisenstein was homosexual. What changed in the 90's is that homosexuals (as did other groups) gained freedom of speech due to the fall of communism.
gay parade in Russia is always foreign provocation, European gays are the leaders of such actions and the main participants.
The traditional nationalist argument... Nazis said that homosexuality was a jewish provocation, some africans say that it's unafrican, in the times of Stalin it was linked to a (german) fascist conspiracy... In fact, Moscow Gay Prides were organised by russian citizens, and gay rights organisations were created by russian citizens as well. Foreigners are free to express their support to gay rights in Russia, and some of them do, but they are not the "leaders" and the "main participants" of such movements.
I think gay parade is crime against children first of all
Why the fact of being in love with someone of the same sex would be harmful to someone else (adult or child) ? Homosexuality doesn't mean pedophilia, as you seem to think (see wikipedia Homosexuality#Prejudice_and_homophobia)
of course homosexuality is connected with prostitution, AIDS and drugs
Of course ? Do you have hard evidence or is it just one of your prejudice against homosexuality ? Heterosexuality is also connected with prostitution, AIDS and drugs.
I did not know even the meaning of the word homosexual till I was fifteen
Sorry about that. You apparently grew up in an homophobic environment, where homosexuality is a taboo. I hope that this taboo will eventually disappear in Russia, and that more and more Russians will learn what homosexuality truly is, and will become more and more tolerant.

Philip Kenyon (Sunday, May 17, 2009 22:47)

Ms Ushakova...most countries which have a more tolerant attitude towards gay people are also richer, fairer, more democratic and generally more advanced than Russia. Oh and by the way, the gay community in the UK is widely regarded as having many talented people who make a huge contribution to society, as well as to our taxes; they are also one of the most lawful, peaceful sections of society. Perhaps you should think about that, instead of making ridiculous anti-gay remarks. Go and educate yourself, madam, and learn some manners also.

Ian (Tuesday, May 19, 2009 12:46)

Russian authorities (and obviously some Russian people) need to drag themselves out of the dark ages and realise what the rest of the educated world have realised - that Gay people have the same rights as everyone else ! Unless you are brain-dead because of religiously poisoned mind or just plain stupid, you will be able to see that.

Elvis (Wednesday, May 20, 2009 10:01)

You are right. Dark Russian can say what they think of gays and Educated European keep silence.Where are human rights.shame on you Ian, Philip and alsachti. Do not discredit European education.

Richard (Wednesday, May 20, 2009 20:41)

It's all about the way nature has programmed gays. The way you don't have a "switch" to flip your sexuality Ms. Alexandra, gays have no such "switch" as well. It's all about being a nice citizen, nice father, mother, brother, sister and friend. Most of the gays are all of them because they are more the sensitive and sensible side. Why their choice who they want to share their life with, bothers you? Greatest psychologist of all time, Dr. Sigmund Freud once remarked that most of the homophobics are closeted homosexuals... I guess he was right!

Richard (Wednesday, May 20, 2009 20:48)

Also, those who deny anyone's right to choose his life denies every doctrine! God doesn't hate anyone. Even if it's a gay or straight, innocent or guilty he gives same air, sunlight and water to everyone! He doesn't seem to dislike jew or christian or hindu or muslim... He doesn't give straight people more sunlight or air! It's the conservative perceptions and beliefs that kill and hate.. broaden your vision and get a life!

Russiawins (Wednesday, June 10, 2009 02:40)

Man i wish they would get rid of those fucking scumbags. I wish for the good ol' communism where homos where silenced. I worked in a police force and had so much pleasure beating them up. Cracking their ribs, breaking bones. And they couldnt do nothing about it. Not even a lawsuit. I just pray for those times when all homos get exterminated.

Philip Kenyon (Monday, June 15, 2009 00:20)

"Russiawins" - you sad individual. Most policemen and women would be quite ashamed of your comments, and so would most Russians generally. Gay equality will come to Russia sooner than you think, and your country will be all the better for it. Bigots like you will be a pathetic, hateful minority who have no relevance to society or the modern world. Hopefully you will change your attitude, we must always hope.

Philip Kenyon (Monday, June 15, 2009 00:27)

Mrs Ushakova...look at the comments by "Russiawins", and you can see the violence that your article encourages. Perhaps you should think about that before you write such rubbish in future. Also...you should have the courage to answer some of the posts on here. Unless of course you realise that you are wrong!

Maik Diekmannshemke (Saturday, August 22, 2009 22:00)

@Russiawins: Shame on you! You just spoil the name of the Russian Federation. I remind you of the speech "Look up, Hannah" at the end of the movie "Great Dictator" by Charlie Chaplin: " I'm sorry, but I don't want to be an Emperor - that's not my business. I don't want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone, if possible -- Jew, gentile, black man, white. We all want to help one another; human beings are like that. We want to live by each other's happiness, not by each other's misery. We don't want to hate and despise one another. In this world there's room for everyone and the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone. The way of life can be free and beautiful. (...) Let us fight for a new world, a decent world that will give men a chance to work, that will give you the future and old age a security. By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power, but they lie! They do not fulfill their promise; they never will. Dictators free themselves, but they enslave the people!! Now, let us fight to fulfill that promise!! Let us fight to free the world, to do away with national barriers, to do away with greed, with hate and intolerance. Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men's happiness. (...) The soul of man has been given wings, and at last he is beginning to fly. He is flying into the rainbow -- into the light of hope, into the future, the glorious future that belongs to you, to me, and to all of us." I can also say thanks to Charlie Chaplin for this words.

Maik Diekmannshemke (Saturday, August 22, 2009 22:12)

"The Activists refer to their Constitutional / Civil Right of Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Assembly. Both rights are granted in the Russian Constitution (Chapter two, Article 29 and 31), and also in the European Convention on Human Rights (CETS 005, Article 10 and 11), which was ratified by the Russian Federation in 1998." (...) "After a gay pride in Warsaw, Poland, locally known as the "Parada Rownosci" (Equality Parade) was banned by the then City Mayor, Lech Kaczynski, the organizators of that pride introduced a case at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. Poland, represented by Lech Kaczynski has meanwhile been found guilty by the European Court of Human Rights for violating basic human rights such as the freedom of assembly with his actions against Warsaw Pride. (...) Subsequent Prides in Warsaw have been more peaceful events."

The author's just expressed her point of view, so I see no reasons for such a buzz :-)Some of those who've written comments have mentioned, that homosexuality is inborn... I want to argue with that. May be, it's inborn in rare cases, but mostly it's all about psychology and fashion. So, if you read some books on psycho-analysis, you'll understand there are a lot of cases when a person (e.g. ignored by her parents) has a chance to become a gay or a lesbian. I don't think that all gays should beaten or imprisoned, but, IMHO, now they show up too much. All these parades and other actions widely discussed in media just give more reasons to hate gays. Sometimes their demonstrations and behaviour look disgusting. They try to form a subculture on the basis of their sexual orientation (only on that!), and that's not OK.

apsushkin (Friday, September 17, 2010 20:45)

Oh, poor-poor Mr. Philip Kenyon. It's already not a secret for anyone here that you are either a gay or one being turned into it (namely "it" because a gay has no gender). Your tender love to perverts is your personal problem, Mister, but there's no need to impose your cherish hopes of the gay society triumph upon sexually normal and natural people. You want gay taxes? Go get'em, what's your problem? Maby such brainless approach to the power of morality is the reason why such people like you are born in falling Europe, not in rising Russia. Russian morality will never let perverted siners live life of normal people. If you don't remember the historical examples of such demoralized, vicious societies, go and educate yourself. Please, forgive me, Mister, if I'm rude. I simply try to follow your communicative pattern. Also... welcome to Russia )))

Place chopped chocolate in a small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at HIGH 1 minute or until almost melted; stir until smooth. Add chocolate to tofu mixture; process until smooth. Divide orange sections evenly among 6 bowls or parfait glasses; top each serving with 1/2 cup mousse. Cover and chill at least 1 hour. thanks so much jennifer!
