1. The Chelyabinsk Region has witnessed yet another out of the earth natural phenomenon within just six months.
The Chelyabinsk Hydro-Meteorological Centre is now studying the footage shot in a town of Miass, some 100km from Chelyabinsk.
Initial guesses include the Northern Lights, which are usually seen further to the north, or the noctilucent, or silver, clouds, an extremely rare occurrence of high clouds seen several hours after the sunset.

In February, the Chelyabinsk Region was struck by a surprise meteor which exploded in the sky and smashed the windows in many apartment blocks and public buildings. You can find the video on Russia-IC.
2. Russian reporter taken away by Istanbul police dressed in plain clothes to be beaten up later, as he claims.
Arkady Babchenko, working for Russia’s outspoken opposition newspaper Novaya Gazeta, was covering the two-week protests in Turkey when he was detained by the law enforcement officers without any charges.
He is safe and back in Russia at the moment. He praised the work of the Russian diplomatic mission which helped him along the way.
