Explosions rocked the town of Chapaevsk, some 40 km from the city of Samara, after an accident at a munitions depot where some 13 million ordnances are stored. Thousands left the city while the emergencies officers worked hard to put out the fire.
Car drivers had to find a way out of the mess but often found themselves clouded in a thick fog.
