1. Gaz-69 was one of the first Russian offroad vehicles, produced between 1951-1972.
2. UAZ-450 was the first model of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant. Production started in 1958.
3. In 1972 came UAZ-469, which continues to be one of the best known all-terrain vehicles in Russia.
4. UAZ-469 survived the times, turning into UAZ Hunter but has now got an older brother, UAZ Patriot.

5. Now, Tolyatti carmakers weren't idle either, and in 1977 they launched Lada Niva 4*4.
It appears to be popular not only in Russia, but in Germany and France, too.

6. Chevy Niva, a joint brainchild of Lada Niva and Chevrolet, emerged as an alternative to less-than-comfortable Lada version.
7. Gaz did not give up, though, and has been working on a new all-terrain model, with a focus on a military application. Commercial models are available, too. Meet Gaz Tiger.
8. Scorpion (by the Zashchita Corporation)
9. Kamaz 43269 Vystrel. This beast could be used as a recon vehicle and a launch pad for drones.
