Greenpeace activists who attempted to storm Gazprom’s oil rig in the Arctic Ocean are facing piracy charges which could land them into jail for up to 15 years. The investigators have come out with serious statements concerning the September 18th incident around the Prirazlomnaya platform in the Barents Sea.

Earlier, Russia-IC reported on the previous voyage of the Arctic Sunrise to block exploration works in the Arctic Ocean by Rosneft.
Elsewhere, a heavy rainfall has put on hold Olympic preparations in Sochi and left 800 passengers in the local airport stranded. Eyewitnesses say the water levels in the local rivers have grown dramatically, with some of the newly opened roads covered with water. The officials say they are ready for evacuation but according to the recent reports, the water started to recede.
