September 3, 2015 17:59

The President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro proposed to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to discuss the measures on stabilization of the situation in the oil market. This was reported by RIA “Novosti”. “We will be able talk about what we can do in order to stabilize the oil market and the prices” - Maduro said at the meeting with Putin in Beijing.

He noted that “we had good ideas on this issue”. The President of Russia, in his turn, proposed to Nicolas Maduro to negotiate on trade between the two countries. “I am glad about the opportunity to talk about bilateral relations. Our trade turnover declined significantly in last year, and it has risen by more than 25 percent this year” – the agency quotes the words. During the trading session on September 3 Brent crude oil stopped at 50.28 dollars per barrel (as of 12:10 Moscow time).

The US dollar costs 66.99 roubles at the stock exchange, euro - 75.34. The official exchange rates are 66.68 and 75.09, respectively. Earlier, on August 31, the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) urged the mining states to dialogue for stabilization of the situation with the oil quotations. OPEC stressed that the cooperation was and would be the key to the future of the oil market.
