Russia and the USA may yield each other on an issue concerning the composition of the delegation of Syrian opposition during the negotiations in Geneva. It is reported by Bloomberg with the reference to the sources in the diplomatic quarters. It is mentioned that the risks of breakdown in negotiations are minimal.
It is informed that UN Special envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura will invite two separate delegations of Syrian opposition to Geneva. Probably that the detailed information will be presented during the briefing that will take place on 25 January 2016.
According to the Agency’s sources Moscow may accept the participation of radical Islamic Army, supported by Saudi Arabia, in the negotiations. The USA, in their turn, will agree with arrival of the delegations to Geneva the participation of which is insisted by Moscow. It is referred to the representative of Syrian opposition People's Will Party and the Popular Front for Change and Liberation Qadri Jamil and the leader of the Kurdish Democratic Union Party Salih Muslim.
Let us recall that on 20 January the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov and the USA State Secretary John Kerry in Zurich undertook a decisive attempt to save the process of peaceful settlement of conflict in Syria. Day before in the UN secretary and in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia they did not guaranteed that the scheduled first round of direct negotiations between the representatives of Bashar sl-Asaad’s Regime and the opposition would take place.
