The Ministry of Agriculture objects to the full resumption of relations with Turkey, they think that the supplies of products should still be restricted. This was reported by the Deputy Agriculture Minister Evgeny Gromyko to the Rambler News Service agency on Wednesday, June 6.
“The Ministry of Agriculture, of course, is against the resumption of the full package of relations, of food supplies in full volume, and so on” – the agency quotes his words. It is necessary to be careful with regard to the interests of import substitution, as the official said. “It is the question of cautiousness, we can say “yes” to tourism, transport and energy, but we have to be careful with agriculture, because we have just had one attitude, so that the domestic agricultural business understands the strategy of its development” - Andrei Gromyko said.
On July 5 the Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that no decisions on the resumption of supplies of Turkish food to Russia had yet been made. On June 27, the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan apologized for the aircraft Su-24 shot down. After this the Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he would instruct the government to begin negotiations with the Turkish authorities for the resumption of mutually beneficial cooperation.
