The Russian Export Centre (REC) will expand the list of countries for the supply of media content for children.
This was announced by the Managing Director for the Organization of International Projects of REC Mikhail Mamonov. “We will support standard media content not only on digital, but also on classical channels - on TV, in movie theaters” - he said. Mamonov noted that media content, especially for children, “is a driver of another four to five different markets”, such as toys, games, clothes.
“Together with our colleagues from the “Central Television”, Institute of Internet Development (IRD) and the Russian producers of cartoons, we will work through several variants for promoting Russian cartoons abroad. Maybe promotion will not only be based on LeEco platforms, and markets will include not only China, but also other countries of the world” – Mamonov narrated.
REC together with “Central TV” are also considering a possibility of subsidizing the costs for the translation of animated films. Mamonov added that Russian companies would independently run production of their works which would be able to generate satisfactory charges.
REC will help by sponsoring promotion offers and developing new sales channels. As an example, he took the “McDonald’s” fast food restaurants chain where they sell popular cartoon toy characters together with food kits for children.
