The Russian government has approved a draft agreement on the repayment of Soviet debt in the amount of $ 125 million to Yugoslavia. It is expected that it will be signed between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and, accordingly, the Russian government.
The document was posted on the official website of legal information on Thursday, December 22. The text of the agreement says that the obligations of the Soviet Union to Yugoslavia make up 200 million clearing dollars (clearing currency is the unit of account for transactions carried out between the countries which have concluded a clearing agreement; an agreement on payments in US dollars between Moscow and Belgrade was signed in the 1970-s).
According to the agreement between the countries, one clearing dollar is equal to 0,625 US dollars. Thus, Russia is expected to repay $ 125 million. At the same time, Moscow will transfer 58 percent directly to Bosnia and Herzegovina, 29 percent – to the Republic of Serbia, 10 percent - for the needs of the governmental authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and another three percent – to Brcko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
