FAS Will Consider Google's Proposal
March 14, 2017 23:06

Google proposed to the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia to sign a settlement agreement on the dispute with the Antimonopoly Agency.

“Google Corporation has addressed us with the possibility of signing a settlement agreement” - the anti-monopoly service reported to the agency. The representative of FAS specified that the case will be considered on March 27. In January of 2017 the American Corporation Google tried to argue the decision of the Russia’s FAS that recognized the company a violator of anti-monopoly legislation at the Russian market of Android apps in the Supreme Court of Russia.

In November 2016 it was reported that FAS had fined two structures within the American Corporation — Google Inc. and Google Ireland Limited, for 500 thousand roubles each. At the same time the Head of the anti-monopoly agency Igor Artemyev stated that company sabotages the execution of requirements of FAS concerning the elimination of violation on the Russian market of mobile applications. The Minister stressed the fact that the Agency planned to fine the Corporation until it performs the decree of the service. Google tried to argue the legality of the sentence of FAS, but unsuccessfully. In late November the Federal Service threatened Google with a new fine.
