The External Debt Of Russia Goes Up
April 28, 2017 12:19

The external debt of Russia totaled 529.7 billion dollars as of April 1, 2017. It is 16.2 billion dollars or 3.1 percent more than at the beginning of the year. This was reported by the Bank of Russia.

The regulatory body registered the external debt growth in all sectors of the economy, which occurred due to the revaluation of liabilities in roubles against the background of strengthening of the Russian currency. “In addition, the first quarter of the year 2017 was characterized by an increase in debt liabilities of the General Government and other sectors as a result of transactions with non-residents” – the materials of the Central Bank note.

At the same time, Russia’s international reserves decreased by 2.2 billion dollars, down to 395.7 billion, during the week from March 31 to April 7. According to the information of the Central Bank, the decline occurred due to the transactions on the repayment of external debt and negative revaluation.
