September 7, 2017 23:31

The volume of railway transportations between Russia and China increased by 16 percent over the past months of 2017. The First Vice-President of Russian Railways Aleksandr Misharin told about this at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF-2017).

According to his words, the increase is observed in all types of transportations - from raw materials to container cargoes. “We made a number of decisions together with Chinese Railways, in order to simplify the document flow, electronic data exchange and the formation of logistics chains, including ports.

We can already see the results today: not only the development of ports, but also implementation of projects, such as “Primorye-1” and “Primorye-2” - he explained. Misharin also added that the container flow through only one Far Eastern border checkpoint with PRC grew 20 times in 2017. At the same time, the transit flow of goods from China to Europe and back, according to his words, has grown 1.7 times.
