Russian-Turkish Technological Cooperation
January 5, 2018 17:03

The signed Russian-Turkish agreement on supply of S-400 surface-to-air missile systems provides for technological cooperation. This is mentioned in the statement of the secretariat of the defense industry of Turkey, according to the reports.

Earlier on December 29, Moscow and Ankara signed a loan agreement in the Turkish capital for the supply of S-400. Under this agreement the Republic of Turkey buys two S-400 batteries, and local personnel will provide the service. It is also mentioned about Turkey's desire to obtain a SAM of its own production. The technical side and details of payment were not disclosed.

At the same time on December 27, the head of the Rostekh corporation, Sergei Chemezov, said that 55 percent of the transaction for supply of S-400 would cover the Russian loan. According to him, the contract on supply of four S-400 squadrons is 2.5 billion US dollars. After Ankara announced the purchase of S-400 from Moscow, the relations between Turkey and the member countries of the North Atlantic Alliance became more complicated. Therefore, the US permanent representative to NATO, Kay Bailey Hutchison, said that "the S-400 is incompatible with NATO systems, and this is a problem."
