A pilot project to provide residents free internet access at public transport stops launched in Moscow.

As the press service of Mosgortrans State Unitary Enterprise reports, now there are 10 stops in the capital equipped with wireless access points. On each of them are placed widescreen posters with details about the service. Free internet can be accessed by any subscriber device supporting Wi-Fi: smartphones, tablets, laptops.

The distance at which wireless internet can be accessed is 25-30 meters. 20-30-minutes session limitation a day will be effective for all user devices on each stop. The pilot project will run for one or two months, after which the decision on its further development will be taken.

"I am sure that Internet at stops and on the routes of ground urban transport is a service that meets the needs of capital's residents," the press service quoted CEO SUE "Mosgortrans" Yevgeny Mikhailov. For the time of the pilot project, the free wireless Internet access is available on the stops near Schukinskaya, Orekhovo, Yugo-Zapadnaya, Rizhskaya, Skhodnenskaya metro stations as well as on the stops of 33, Isakovsky Street, Peredelkino Platform, Turistskaya Street, Indira Gandhi Square and Universam on Tashkentskaya Street. More detailed information can be found on Mosgortrans website.
