Selfie Sticks As Outside Entertainment
April 9, 2015 17:33

Capital parks are going to rent out selfie sticks – devices allowing to fix a phone or a camera to take a shot at a distance. This makes it easier to capture people posing for a photographer in one shot.

The press service of the park “Kuzminki-Lublino” told that selfis sticke rental may start working already during the May holidays. “We are considering such a possibility, it’s an interesting idea for the leisure of Moscow residents, especially young people” - the press-service explained.

The park representatives found it difficult to say how much the rental of selfie sticks would cost, but suggested that the price would not exceed 100 roubles.

The Director of “Sokolniki” Andrey Lapshin also considered this idea interesting. “I will try to implement it in the park” - he said. However, according to Lapshin, there is a risk that the service will not be popular. “But we can try it in a pilot mode” - he added.

The Director of Gorky Park Olga Zakharova said that the idea of selfie sticks rental is worth considering.

“However, selfie sticks are not expensive” - she said “But rental makes sense only if something is difficult to buy, because it is expensive. There is a danger that once a stick is rented, it can quickly break down. If a device costs a thousand roubles, visitors will have to pay a pledge of the same amount. The rent itself may cost 50 roubles. Thus, in order to repay expenditures, 20 people should rent it. If it breaks down before that, this will be unprofitable”.
