A gay parade will be arranged in Russia for the first time. It will be held in a small village in the Ulyanovsk region, where seven people officially live.
One of the organizers, an activist of the LGBT movement, Nikolay Alekseev, posted on the social network VKontakte the response of the city authorities to the notification of the event. It says that the declared route of the movement of the marchers passes through the central square of Novoulyanovsk and crosses the territory of the fair, where many residents, including minors, gather.
"Taking into account the negative attitude of the population towards such events, in order to avoid any conflict situations, as well as violations of the requirements of the Federal Law “On protecting children from information that is harmful to their health and development," we suggest changing the venue of the public event and arranging it in the Yablonevy village at the time specified by you,"- it was said in the message signed by the head of the administration of Novoulyanovsk.
Nikolay Alekseev clarifies in the message that the population of the Yablonevy village is seven people. "Thus, the first agreed-upon gay parade in Russia's history is to be held on the 26th of August 2018 in Yablonevy village in the city of Novoulyanovsk, Ulyanovsk region." The main thing is not to exceed the declared number of participants. 300 people declared to participate," Nikolay Allekseev wrote.
