October 18 – 22, 2012 Moscow Manezh (Manezhnaya square, 1) hosts the commemorative 25th Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, the key event in the Russian fashion industry and the largest fashion week in Eastern Europe. More than 50 designers from Russia, Ukraine, the UK, Italy and the US will present their Spring/Summer 2013 collections.

Russian Fashion Week (RFW) is held in Moscow twice a year in early April and mid-October, aiming to support and promote the Russian fashion and attract the attention of the world famous designers to the Russian market. Long-lasting partnership relations with the fashion weeks in Milan, London, Beijing, Athens, Lisbon and other cities have turned Moscow into a major European fashion center. No less important is that RFW helps to develop the national fashion consciousness and allows the Russian designers to share the same catwalk with world legends, such as participants of the previous RFW – Vivienne Westwood, Jeremy Scott, JC de Castelbajac.

The commemorative 25th RFW starts with the exhibition of the outstanding Russian designer, Slava Zaitsev (whose name means Glory), taking place from 17 to 28 October, 2012 in Manezh. “The Glory of Russian Fashion” is devoted to the 30-year anniversary of Slava Zaitsev's Fashion House and shows the most significant works of the couturier.

The Russian theme mixed with the global trends is followed by Marina Makaron, who presents her “Fairy Voyage” collection with the bright traditionally Russian prints.

Veronica Basharatyan from the UK takes a risk to change the conventional concept of the Russian Siberia having made her “Siberia” collection of such materials as chiffon, silk, flax and organza.

The second day of the RFW presents the collections from the near abroad, Belarus Fashion Week Collective Show and Ukrainian designer Liliya Poustovit, while the third day is dedicated to débuts and premiers of the young designers.

The major international events of the upcoming fashion week are the shows by the British designer Ozwald Boateng, who will present a capsule women's collection for the first time (October 20), and KAI (October 21), the designer for the Thai Royal family. “Elle Thailand” refers to Kai as the “legendary designer of Thailand”, who has clothed many celebrities, and even the First Lady.

Among the other honourable participants of the RFW are Tatiana Parfionova, Julia Nikolaeva, Yegor Zaitsev, Mari Axel, Bessarion, Oleg Biryukov, Poustovit, Viva Vox, Elena Tsokalenko, Elena Suprun, and many others.

Apart from the daily shows many designers arrange presentations on jewellery and accessories.
